Brexit supporters have what they want, but not the politicians.
There is an excellent reply to a question posted on Quora which sets out why the Brexit agreement reached with the European Union is exactly what Brexit supporters voted for, but a whole lot more that some politicians definitely do not want.
The main point is that people did not vote to leave the Single Market and Customs Union. They did vote for free movement to be stopped, take back control of UK laws and stop paying into the EU. Which has now been agreed. There was never a mention of leaving the Single Market and Customs Union.
So why are some wealthy Tories not happy with the agreement that meets Leaver supporters demands? Comes down to money, their money and financial dealings. Stopping tax avoidance is what they are against.
This is also a possible reason the ERG (European Research Group) and people like David Davis could not produce any document for discussions with the EU, because they would have to exclude the rules on tax avoidance. A good view on a no deal Brexit.
